Five Great Ways To Spend Your Day In Langley

The sun is shining, the days are warming up, and that means it is finally time to start heading outdoors and exploring all that Langley has to offer! And luckily, we are pretty spoiled here! Langley has become an absolute hub of spring-and-summer activities from delicious treats, scenic trails, historical sites, and tons of cultural events!

So check out our top five places to visit and do in Langley, and let us know how much fun you had!

Fraser Winery Tour – There are many wineries in the Langley area, soaking up the sun and rich air, making this a perfect way to spend the day outside! On this half-day guided trip, you will visit different vineyards and enjoy a special lunch at the conclusion. You will learn about the history of each winery, including specialty products. This small-group tour, limited to eleven individuals, provides personalized treatment, including hotel pickup and drop-off!

Langley Circle Farm Tour – Langley has the most farms of any town or city in Metro Vancouver, with over 50 working farms, several of which have earned a seat on the Langley Circle Farm Tour. This self-guided tour is a fantastic way to see some of the town’s most intriguing and distinctive farms. Several farms allow you to pick your luscious berries in the summer, milk cows, look at alpaca-fur products, or purchase delicious farm-made sweets such as pies, jam, and honey – yum. Every step brings something new and exciting, and you could easily spend a whole day roaming from farm to farm!

Parkour Playground Penzer Action Park – Penzer isn’t your run-of-the-mill park… It’s something much, much better. Instead of boring swings and a simple slide, this park has a parkour course (one for younger children and another for older children, both with an in-ground trampoline), a climbing playground, a concrete pump track, and numerous sports courts. The highly interactive playground structures are unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and children of all ages will have a joy running around and playing for hours. And of course, its totally free!

Greater Vancouver Zoo – The Greater Vancouver Zoo is located in Aldergrove, a Langley neighborhood, and one of the Vancouver area’s greatest animal attractions. Although this zoo isn’t as large as the Toronto Zoo or the San Diego Zoo, being a smaller zoo has its advantages. For starters, the zoo is very walkable – though you can always take the zoo’s train that winds around the grounds if you want. Second, unlike many larger zoos, you get the ability to see the animals up close. There are approximately 140 different animals to see, some of which are native to British Columbia (such as the grizzly bear and elk) and others from a far greater distance, such as giraffes and hippos. It’s a great way to spend the day with family, especially young kiddos who might not be able to walk the greater distances in a larger park.

Fort Langley – Want to try something a little more educational? Then maybe try to visit the Fort Langley National Historic Site, an official Parks Canada National Historic Site. This historical site depicts life in Langley during the nineteenth century. Explore the reconstructed timber buildings, replete with costumed interpreters and live demonstrations, to discover more about Fort Langley’s importance in the fur trade and gold mining era. Children can learn about history firsthand or participate in the Xplorers Program in the play area, which encourages children to attempt a range of activities. You can even take your adventure to the next level by staying the night!

Whether you live in the Langley area or are only in the area to visit, these five fun activities are sure to please families of all shapes and sizes! Better yet, you can easily stay the night in one of the area’s highly rated hotels and eat a fantastic meal at one of the local restaurants. Shopping, hiking, events and more can also easily take up your vacation time, so plan ahead to make sure you have time for everything you want to do!
