If you’re new to the area or want to find some new weekend adventures that are dog friendly we’ve compiled a list of parks, walks, trails, vets and shops that will welcome you and your smaller four-legged friends. 

Parks 

Uplands Dog Off-Leash Park

As the name suggests, it’s the place to be if you have four-legged family members. This large fenced-off green allows everyone to stretch their legs. It’s a great place to meet other dog owners and let your dogs socialize.

Brookswood Dog Park

Stretch your legs at Brookswood Dog Park. This park has a large fenced area to let your dog run around off-leash. They’ll love meeting other dogs at this popular dog park. The park has a washroom with a dog-friendly hose to get the mud and dirt off their paws. 

Derby Reach 

The scenic Derby Reach is home to a serene river and picnic areas, perfect for a big day out for the whole family. The park is divided into three sections which allow for some off-leash exercise and socialising for your pup. You can make a whole day trip and take a packed lunch to share at one of their picnic tables by the riverside. This park also connects to the Fort-to-Fort trail and edge farm trail, these trails are dog-friendly as long as you keep them on leash. 

Linwood Park Off-Leash Dog Area. 

A fully-fenced area where your pup can give their legs a good stretch and meet other dogs. This is an off-leash space so it can sometimes be home to mayhem when lots of dogs are there, if your dog has good social skills they will love this environment. Along with the fenced “off-leash” zone, there are other parts of the park that can be explored on-leash. These include walking trails covered with dense forest and wildlife. 

Houston Trail 

An awesome 4.2km trail where you can take your pup as long as they stay on leash. You’ll get some mountain views, dense bush and lovely scenery as you work your way around this Langley trail. This trail is also equine friendly so your horse and dog can have an adventure at the same time. 

Irene Peace Trail

4.5km of serene settings, forest and wetlands. You can bring your dog on a leash and also your larger equine family members. This trail is a loop with a few off-loop areas to explore. 

Vets 

Fort Langley Veterinary Clinic
